Dear Friend of the Fair: 

We’re excited to bring you the 2023 Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fairs. This long running tradition will run August 1st through 6th making it the 164th Gouverneur Fair and the 171th St. Lawrence County Fair!

Coleman Brothers will once again provide the carnival. They provide food, games and rides for the young and old alike. Advanced discounted ride wristbands will be available from Coleman’s before the fair at their website: www.colemanshows.com. This is a great deal! Don’t miss out on the extra savings!

The fair officially starts Tuesday the 1st, at 4:00 p.m. The Talent Show will kick off the first night at 6:30.  Rides open at 2:00 on Wednesday August 2nd. Band Day is also held on Wednesday and the Fireman’s Parade at 7:00. Harness Racing is on Thursday, the 3rd. Common Revolution will take the stage in the evening. In addition to the outstanding local music, it will be a fun night with dancing and chances to win great prizes. The New York Hot Farm Pulling Series will take to the track on Friday night. Saturday evening at 7:30 we are excited to bring Dylan Scott to the stage. This powerful multi-platinum vocalist, with two No. 1 hit singles will be one concert you won’t want to miss! Sunday brings the annual Demolition Derby starting at 12:00 p.m.      

Daily Grounds Acts are free entertainment for the entire family. Returning are Rosaire’s Royal Racers and Eudora Farm’s, with some of the world’s most fascinating animals. New this year is Chainsaw Carver Jennifer Black.   

We continue to make improvements to the grounds and programming with sponsorship funds. We are currently seeking NYS grant funds for the renovation of round roof cattle barn and to obtain some much needed maintenance equipment.   

We are proud of our agricultural community and the cattle, sheep, poultry and horses’ exhibitors bring to the fair for competition. The Youth Building, FFA Barn and show ring will be in full swing with many 4-H and FFA members. Many exhibitors go on to state and national competitions.  

Admission to the fairgrounds is free. Parking is available at $5. Like most rural fairs we struggle to make enough in one week to pay for a year’s worth of expenses. We receive a percentage of the carnival ride income and we collect fees for vendor space. With little hired labor, our Directors volunteer countless hours to maintain the buildings and grounds. We’re always looking for volunteers and encourage you to contact us if interested.   

Sponsorship is an excellent opportunity to market your business and benefit from extra exposure at the Fair. Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond levels are available; receiving added advertising exposure for each increased level of sponsorship.   

Please know we greatly appreciate your financial support helping us put on this event for our community, county and surrounding area. We wouldn’t be able to do it without you! Sponsorship and advertising are an excellent opportunity to market your business and reap the benefits from extra exposure at the Gouverneur & St. Lawrence County Fair. Bronze, Silver and Gold levels are available receiving increased recognition for each increased level of sponsorship.  Recognition through signage at both ends of the fairgrounds, business logo posted on our website, parking passes, grandstand passes and display space.  Additional benefits are also available for Diamond sponsors!   

Sponsorship monies, at any level are used to improve the grounds and facilities, and in some cases, pay for an individual event.  Should you have an interest in a specific event you are welcome to indicate that and we will apply your donation accordingly.  Please see our Sponsorship Form included.
